A rondellhund (lit. translation: roundabout dog) is a small dog sculpture placed in the middle of a roundabout. This Swedish phenomenon started in autumn this year in Linköping, Östergötland and has come to be increasingly popular. After a vandalization of the "official" dog sculpture, a concrete sculpture named "Cirkulation II" by Stina Opitz, it was decided that it be replaced with a newer one, made of metal to prevent further vandalization. The sculpture was removed and in the middle of July someone had placed a wooden dog sculpture there, which drawed media attention. And since then, dog sculptures of all kinds made by all kinds of people - from little kids to established artists - have been observed on roundabouts all over Sweden. This one is made of net and stands in Årsta torg, Årsta, Stockholm.
