| Grey pottery dog figure ( 77-693 ) | |
| Time:Eastern Han 25~220AD Dimension:Height:21cm,length:24cm Tomb burials during the Han dynasty were held in great importance. The Han people regarded the afterlife as no less important than their life on earth. Mainstream tomb burial items were initially bronze ritual vessels, dings and pans. Later more models that reflect life in the real world were made, including towers, pavilions, crop stores, houses, and herds. This pottery dog has a vivid expression a he raises his head and ears, opens his mouth and shows his teeth. His legs are stretched out straight and he looks as though he is alarming someone who is trying to invade his territory. There is a collar on his neck. He is indeed a loyal and responsible guard dog. http://digital.nmh.gov.tw/collection/pda/en/30402.htm |
