Dog Love
August 20, 2008 · 2 Comments
In all honesty, I’ll admit I’ve never met a dog I didn’t like. I love them all. The taciturn, the giddy, the spring-loaded, the tanks, the ankle to waist high, and with or without hair, fur or fluff. They just do it for me. And while my love of dogs grows stronger with each new pup I meet, let’s not keep my general dog related enthusiasm from emphasizing my affection for these next dogs.
A while back I posted their sneak peek (Sophie and Manna) and now I’m more excited than ever to be sharing the rest of their shoot with you. And if that wasn’t enough, their mom invited me back for a second round with their third (yes, third!) member of the pack, Scout.
Scout is a sweet old boy, with so much heart and puppy vigor it’ll turn you right into mush before you can say “Old Yeller”. I’m sweet on Scout like nobody’s business.
And the other two? Well I think they’re just the bees knees.
Here’s to dog love. Panting, galloping, sniffing, slobbering dog love.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
First up is Sophie, because if you come over she will make sure she is the first to greet you. And for that matter, the first to get a hello, a belly rub, a treat and a snuggle.
SOPHIE
Sorry Sophie, but your half moon is just too good not to share.
Quite frankly, I didn’t know a dog was capable of making this expression, but leave it to Sophie to prove me wrong.
Next up is Sweet Manna. Manna loves to eat, listen to talk radio and pick up an occasional harlequin romance novel on a rainy day. She can usually be found hanging out around the house, eating snacks and generally getting bossed around by Sophie.
MANNA
And now for a few of these two together in action. A team of trouble makers indeed…
All your treats are belong to us.
They’re like Lewis & Clark, but with leashes and a mad obsession with squirrels.
This is exactly how they walk on the leash together, leaning into each other at the same height with tails in unison. It’s hilarious. I could barely take this picture I was laughing so hard.
And last, but certainly not least. Scout. Scout may very well be the best dog on earth. (If you weren’t counting Haunches, that is) Scout has the spirit of an eager puppy and a heart of pure gold. To meet him is a truly special privilege.
