waaay back in the spring of last year, i applied to be a part of a painted dog series that a small town to the south of me was trying to put together. a while back i had my design concept posted on here.
well, someone finally sponsored my pop art pop design. they delivered the wood dog figure to me today. they actually want me to try to finish it by this weekend! i did get him primed late this afternoon.
the picture is deceiving, the dog is about three and a half feet high. they will be scattered around the town, kind of similar to the cows on parade theme of artist designed animals.
took me two days but i did manage to finish the wood dog for this festival down in frenchtown this weekend. unfortunately this is hte only picture that came out ok. it's so humid out that the other pictures show my fogged up lens.
i was hoping to get away with the marker outline of all the black at the end, but the paint wasn't cooperating and the marker kept skipping on the surface.
supposedly these are auctioned off for charity after going on display. he stands about 3 and a half feet tall so it's a good size.
